My computer has started running really slow and keeps on freezing/crashing can anyone tell me how to

I tried to download Norton security and since my computer just seems to be going haywire and running really slow?

My computer has started running really slow and keeps on freezing/crashing can anyone tell me how to fix this?hijack this

I would advise against Norton as this can really slow your pc down. You could either purchase a new antivirus or download AVG which is free. You should also perform maintenance regularly i.e, clear cookies etc delete old files. (check your free memory) Also if you have other anti spyware/virus running on top of Norton they will conflict and cause stop errors freezes. Check for updates If you have lots of music photos, back these up to cd or memory stick and clear them off. Run an error check if anything comes up then you should be able to repair with original disk. hope this helps.

norton is poo. unload the programme and install antivir Personal edition classic. runs better than norton, and I have never had any probs. checks your computer every few hours for you.
Ok since that sounds hopeless to me i would just reformat the computer. Not sure the exact specifics for your computer you may have to put in the cd it came with if it did. But reformatting totally deletes everything on your computer.. Well it makes it brand new.

EDIT: DONT GET NORTON NOT HELPFUL -- GET MCAFEE IF YOUR GONNA GET ANYTHING.
You could try a system restore to a couple of weeks ago. Go to start, accessories, system tools, then system restore.
Right, cause you are infected with Adware, Viruses, Trojans and Spyware.

How do I know my computer is virus free?

I have Norton Internet Security installed on my computer but sometimes it has got too slow than before (I had it for a year and a half now). Is there any programme which I can use to determine that my computer is threat free (virus, hijacking etc. etc.) while keeping Norton installed.

I have done the msconfig thing and unchecked the unnecessroty programmes.

How do I know my computer is virus free?hp

Install some anti spyware, trojans and spyware are much more common than viruses now! It won't conflict with your firewall or anti virus.

You need all these anti spyware programs;

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tp... - AVG anti spyware

http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

Plus;

http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware

Also, run Ccleaner, use the Issues tool and then the Cleaner.

Defragment the hard drive from Start - programs -accessories - system tools - disc defragmenter. Leave the pc while it runs and do it once a month.

Computer suddenly running slow and freezing frequently..Help!?

    Hi,

My computer has been running smoothly for about 4 years now. However suddenly over the last few days, it has started running extremely slow and constantly freezing to the point where the computer is unusable (am using sisters comp to write this).

My norton security is upto date, i regularly defrag etc and look after the computer.

I recently went wireless (security protected). I dont know if this has anything to do with it.

A virus scan revealed a trojan (but was only a low threat) which has been deleted but the computer is still running poorly.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what is causing this? before i reformat the computer?

Any help would be greatly apreciated!!

How do I remove a ';Your computer is infected!'; warning?

The company SPYWAREQUAKE sent me a popup ad for a spyware program and a ''free trial.'' I downloaded the free trial and at the end of the free period notified them by email that I wanted to cancel and not be billed in the future. I have not been billed and have gone into the Control Panel Add or Remove Programs and uninstalled the program. However, I get a shield with an x in the middle of my tray and every few minutes a 2'' x 2'' popup from the system tray will appear for 10-15 seconds and it has black letters on a gray background with a bright red color surrounding the gray andit says, ''Your computer is infected!'' Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I've searched for in files and folders, I've tried to uninstall it from the control panel, I've looked at the register and can't tell what the name of it is and therefor can't delete it. Now the red shield with an ''x'' is a bar above the screen and it says, ''Your current security settings put your computer at risk. Click here . . . .

What is your list of the best free security softwares?ktm

Being an IT Manager, I firmly believe you get what you pay for, PERIOD. Using a combination of freebies will cost you not a dime, but will cost you PLENTY of performance on your computer, and in many cases bring it to a standstill. The best pay AV/AS I've found, that I use on all our office machines and mine at home is BitDefender. Very reasonably priced and has been doing the right thing for us here for over a year. Doesn't weigh down your system like Norton, McAfee or Panda. BitDefender does have a freebie available, but again, you get what you pay for. Trend Micro is also decent, not slowing your computer alot, but is pretty pricey compared to BitDefender. Cheers!

i went away to college, and they have you install security programs on your computer. While i was at school i had to install a bunch of other things as well, i downloaded aim, and stuff like that so i could talk to my friends, adobe reader, and things like that. now im at home, and i wanted to uninstall everything that i dont use becuase my desktop looked like a mess. so i did. its currently not hooked up to any internet or anything. ever since i did that, every time i try to log on, or try to click on anything, it starts to load, but just ends up looking stuck and a blurry picture. Also the monitor goes on and off all the time! everytime i try to click on something it does that also. sometimes it will go into sleep mode and even if i move the mouse it doesnt wake up! one time a blue screen came up and was like ''if this is the first time seeing this message, restart the computer. if its not do the following.'' its a dell and windows, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

File download from unknown zone in Internet - I am in problem after unckecking the Security message?

while attempting file download from Unknown Zone, a small yellow box comes up with 3 options 'Open' 'save' 'cancel' along-with a security caution at the end, and a checkbox(with default checkmark) containing a message 'Always ask before opening this type of files' . I am in great problem after I unckecked the checkbox. All large files with that particular extension(.csv) are opening direct on my browse. However, this unchecking has not affected opening of files with other types of extensions (.dbf etc.) in unknown zone, and they are displaying the 'warning message' as usual. Changes made in Security-Privacy-View-Display Settings etc., failed to restore Original settings for that particular type of file download. Direct downloads from UnknownZone without having a chance to Review the file is a security threat to my computer.

How can I restore back to my Original Settings ?

File download from unknown zone in Internet - I am in problem after unckecking the Security message?liveupdate

well there are many options. the best one would be to check system restore in control panel. and restore the os to a previous date. you can also make a disk partition and isntall another os, then tranfers your old files to the new os. Also dont mind much about that box that comes up when you try to download a file. its only a warning it doenst do anything. get a firewall and customize it to do this instead of that useless box.

    Hope that works

Is it wise to get rid of Windows Security Alerts from your Windows XP Service Pack 2?norton 360

Unwise..... a fully patched machine is mandatory for security. See ''zero day threats'' to understand this.
    Don't bother that alerts.

But I need to advised you that AVG is useless.

Try change to Avira antivir or active virus shield.
GabrielB has provided you with the correct info on changing alerts. If you are automatically updating your virus defs for AVG using the scheduler you shouldn't have a problem with those alerts anyway. It is definitely recommended to keep auto updates for windows on, unless of course you are running a pirate copy of XP which won't allow you to update.

On the subject of AVG - check out their awards and certifications. They get the same certs from the big names as Avira and don't bother with a whole bunch of awards from pissy little contests held in Germany only. 100% detection rate that's what it's about and that's what they concentrate on, not entering contests. Be assured that what you are using is just as good as Avira.

Hi, McAfee released an update on the 30th of July which caused these problems the only way to resolve this issue is to do a complete reinstall of McAfee on your computer ( if you contact technical support they will tell you the same) This is the Site you need that will fix your problem https://us.mcafee.com/root/fix.html
go to where u bought this computer. They will help u fix the problem. It should be contacting Mcafee automatically at least once a day to get updated.
Mcafee releases new virus definitions just about everyday so it appears that your PC is not getting updates from the Mcafee servers. It should be contacting Mcafee automatically at least once a day to get updated. Mcafee has multiple corporate and home user versions so the specifics of what you should check will depend on what version of their product you have.
    Hi,

Please do this just download a free copy of AVG Anti-Virus and dump Mccafee it's rubbish, AVG is free and comes with free Updates as well. This will help you.
Have you made sure that you have registered it for updates.

also, you need to make sure everything has been configured
Full System Scan is mandatory now every 15 days.

Open the security center and you will see a button on the top right which will say ''Fix it'' Click the button and Mcafee will fix the problem.

Clear all your cache and your history everytime you close your internet browser as a first. then you should download google desktop and search for your name, your address etc and it will find anything connecting to it so you can delete yourself from it. also you should add more passwords to things, a good security measure is to use a different password for everything, most people use a set password for everything they do on a computer which means that if someone cracks the password they have complete control.

First of all.. if you are not sure of something this basic with your product then the proper place to go would be the mcafee.com website or contacting their technical support... asking for advice on a public web board from people who might be younger than 10 years old is never wise.

Resetting to the defaults would mean back to the settings that it had when you first installed it. (What are those? see above).

If you have added anything to the firewall rules or have changed any settings those will be gone.

Most likely if your product is ''kicking out of enabled mode'' there is a problem which is probably malware related.

Legally, you should have a separate copy (and therefore a separate license) for each computer. If your copy is recent, you may find that it is licensed for 3 computers already, as many of the consumer versions of the major security suites are doing this automatically due to the increased number of people with multiple computers.

If the version is licensed only for one computer, it likely will not LET you install onto more than one computer, because it will verify the serial number with their database and see that you already have it on another PC, and then it will disable it (or not even install it) on the second PC.

Many types of malware (trojans, data miners, keyloggers, trackers, loaders, etc. ) not only install in your main partition, but they also wind up in your system restore. Also you may have downloaded a file that is infected. As long as that file is still stored in your computer (either on your desktop or in a folder like documents, shared documents, etc.) it will not be removed.

Yahoo does not provide free security protection for the general public. Only those who use an ISP that have partnered with Yahoo receive a free security suite. Such as ATT, SBC, Verizon, BT, Rogers.

Here's some ideas to ''roll ya own'' Internet Security Suite for free. Free is always the best.

    1. For your Anti-Virus......(Always use only 1 A-V)

I like the FREE, AOL ActiveVirusShield. Don't let the name AOL scare you. ActiveVirusShield is made by Kaspersky which is one of top-rated anti-virus vendors in the world.

In recent tests, the most popular free anti-virus, AVG, was only able to detect about 82% of a very large sample of viruses. On the other hand, ActiveVirusShield was able to detect better than 99% in the same test.

    Full test results are here:

    Security Questions?

I WENT INTO MY LOG VIEWER IN THE NORTON ANITVIRUS AND IT SAYS IN ALERTS ''UNAUTHORIZED LOG ACCESSED''. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? WHY CANT I FULLY DELETE P2PNETWORKS OFF MY COMPUTER? AND DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT ICMP PING MEANS? I SCANNED MY COMPUTER FOR THREATS USING SYMANTEC SECURITY AND IT SAID THAT IT WAS OPEN. IM SO CONFUSED. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ALL OF THAT. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME?

    Security Questions?norton internet security 2008

    Hey

Will need some more details to help you out completely but from what you have written..

Unauthorized log access - The exposure of the log files to potential modification does not in anyway affect the security of the product. File modification merely provides a potential way for an intruder to attempt to disguise their illegal activities.

P2P Networks - you can very delete the P2P Networks but I'll have to know what kind of networks are being used on your computer.

ICMP Ping - Internet Control Message Protocol, ICMP is used for error and control messages on the internet. It simply means the network is pinging your computer to check if you are connected to the network at periodic intervals. This sometimes may be abused by the hackers so its better to block it off.

As you said Symantec online scan shows your computer is open, which means your computer is visible on the network / internet which leaves it open for hackers to abuse. The simplest of solution is to get a firewall, I use ZoneAlarm which can be downloaded from Zonelabs.com and is highly recommended. Its very easy to use and configure and works silently without using too much of resources. It also hides your computers on the networks and the suite version also has an Anti-Virus with it so you may just get a single product once your norton expires till then use the free firewall version. After installing the firewall you may run the online scan again to make sure its well configured.

  • Big Computer Problem?

Okay, this is my mom's computer right. She dowloaded McAfee Security Center with all the Spam Killer and everything and that is where it went totally wrong. Well, the security center kept saying she was not protected BUT did not tell her why or how to fix it. She paid $140 for this thing and now it says she is not protected. She tried everything then I tried everything, and I am better at fixing computers than her. Then she called McAfee and stayed on hold for an hour. She got a refund. Then she got back on the comp. and it froze, completely froze. She [unched CTRL + ALT + Delete so many times that the LCD screen flipped! I mean literally she has to work on the computer with the desktop upside down!!! We need help and we need it bad. We need someone who has either had this problem before and fixed it or knows how to fix it. I deleted McAfee and dowloaded a probram of CNet and the comp. is running better. But the screen is still flipped. How do I fix it?

How do you disable ping requests on a Windows XP computer?

I ran a security test on my computer and all ports are stealthed, but the computer did send back a ping request. The tester that I used said that this is actually not something that you want.

I checked in the Windows firewall settings, but I don't have the box checked. So I am thinking that it is set-up through my router. My router is a DI-604 E3. I would like to be able to disable the ping requests if at all possible.

These are the only two firewalls on my machine. The router hardware firewall and Windows own Firewall.

How do you disable ping requests on a Windows XP computer?spyware

In Windows Firewall go to the Advanced tab. Make sure the interface that you're actually scanning is checked. Click the Settings button next to the interface. Go to the ICMP tab. Make sure all checkboxes are NOT checked. The ping is actually the first one (incoming echo request).

To really check this you should run a scanner from another computer (loopbback connections might perform differently). You should also make sure you're scanning the right interface.

You should also check the ICMP setting on your router.
You should have the ICMP setting on your windows firewall checked and on the router configure blocking of ICMP requests. I don't know how you do it on the Dl-604 but am sure there is a way.
I think you need to talk to your router manufacturer customer service before you do something like this. They undoubtedly have a website, or you will have an 800 number in your paperwork. Call them first.
Set that up on your router...it depends on your model where it is located.

Unless you gave someone else your password, it would be impossible for them to access your account and change anything.
One thing that you can do is to creat e two seperate user accounts for yourself and others. By that way, the login information for both the accounts would remain seperate.

Well, If security is what you're looking for you can obtain some sort of virus protection. You have Norton, F-Secure, Mcafee and AVG. I have a notebook and I also use a Firewall as well to protect my computer. Windows XP comes with a Firewall. Just go to your control panel and go to Security Center to turn it off or on. If you don't have XP well most of the virus protecton programs carry a firewall as well. Good Luck
Try PGP Desktop 9. It will not save you from physical theft, but it allows you to encrypt the entire hard drive and password protect it. Then at least if it is stolen you won't have to worry about your personal info being out there.

Running more than one anti-virus and firewall is inadvisable. In some cases they can actually counteract each other and flag each others' files as malware rendering each less effective and actually lowering your computer's overall security health.

You can use a front end spyware blocker for a start called Spyware Blaster. It uses no resources and is free. You simply have to manually check for updates every few weeks or so.

    http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareb...

Next you need an anti-virus. Nod32 is good, but both AVG and Avast also run with minimal resources and are effective. Both are free as well.

  • Difference between ZoneAlarm and Kaspersky Internet Security?

I'm looking for the best antivirus, firewall, and general computer protection that offers good security while using minimal resources. It looks like these two are rated very good:

    ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7 - $50

    Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 - $80

The ZoneAlarm is a lot cheaper, but I also read that it uses the Kaspersky anti-virus engine anyway so I'm thinking it makes sense to go with that right? Anyone recommend other internet security suites? I used to use Norton which did a good job but used up a lot of resources.

Difference between ZoneAlarm and Kaspersky Internet Security?stinger

I've used both products, I wouldn't recommend using ZA's anti-virus, but their firewall is decent and easy to use. Kaspersky is arguably the best anti-virus program you can get your hands on, but I find that the firewall can be a pain if you don't know what you're doing. If you leave Kaspersky to most of it's default settings, it scans EVERYTHING which maxes out your processor. I found the same thing with Norton/ Symantec's firewall as well.

Difference between ZoneAlarm and Kaspersky Internet Security?virus scanner

From the two that you have listed in your question, I would surely recommend you to go for ''Zonealarm internet security suite 7''.In most of the forum, they have rated this suite very high.

The only concern, is the firewall in the suite.Since, the firewall is a very rogue kind of firewall that I have seen.

It sometimes does not allow some of the not so legitimate sites to open.

And this is the only, concern that I have encountered.

However, everything else about the program is top-rated.

Also, put a decent firewall on there (don't rely on the MS firewall. I recommend ZoneAlarm.
McAfee and Norton are two of the most well-known, with Norton probably dominating the market. You can download Ad-Aware and Spybot free. Not so for Norton, but when you consider it is for a full year's protection, it's not so bad. If you keep checking the ads in your local paper and do some searching online, you might catch a deal. I recently bought a two-license subscription with Norton for $9.99 (it was a one-day sale).

Your trying to connect your 2nd comp wirelessly but you don't know your own passphrase ?? try looking on the router itself for a number in brackets [ ] . If you are using AT%26T or Bellsouth DSL, did you bookmark your 'Network at a Glance'' URL ? Without the passphrase or password to change the passphrase, you will NOT be able to connect any other computers. Your ISP may help you with this or they may NOT without the password(s). They might think you're just trying to 'break into' someone elses' network.

Are you sure it's McAfee security doing that? Sounds like a porn filter to me. Anyway, I quit using the McAfee software that comes free with my ISP because I thought it was designed mainly to make sure you're a paying customer and only secondarily to secure my pc.
McAfee software is CRAP (and so is Norton, btw). Not only is it expensive (and they force you to renew every year to keep up-to date) but it bogs down your PC like crazy. Most of the stuff included in the ''security suite'' only succeeds in locking down your PC so tight you can't get anywhere (as you found out). Dump it and go get a free virus scanner, free spyware scanner, and use windows firewall. Your PC will run much faster and you will have many less headaches.
    I had McAfee.

my computer came with norton internet security 2005 on it. it has now expired, i've disaster after disaster so i completely removed internet from computer as i'm frightened that the same will happen again, i got it for christmas off my nan and grandad 2 years ago i've managed to cure my computer twice, but my grandad would go mad if i nacker it up when it's only 2, help?

Does anyone know a outstanding internet security that i could download for free ?triumph

This is something that I have been doing a lot of research about. I think unless you are visiting dodgy sites the normal computer can do very very well on free security. I have been paying Norton for a few years but my friends, and , I include those on Yahoo Answers ( thank you)seem to think that the likes of AVG etc is good enough for the normal user and its free.

    Norton is really bad :-(

    Download the programs below:

Avira (http://www.free-av.com/ )(better and more powerful than AVG)

Spyware Terminator (turn off web security guard) (http://www.spywareterminator.com/ )

  • How do I stop this Norton Security Alert - ';Isass.exe is attempting to connect to a DNS server&

I had to run a recovery CD on our computer and reload Norten Internet Security 2005. Ever since then, I have been bombarded (about every 10-15 seconds with the following security alert - ''Isass.exe is attempting to connect to a DNS server.'' My Norton is up to date (I ran all live updates.) I've also ran several full system scans (none detected any virusus). I have contacted Norton's online support people twice now (waited a half hour in the que both times, just waiting to ''talk'' to someone), spent at least a half hour each time ''talking'' to them and it got me absolutely nowhere. Don't even get me started on it. It was really bad. At any rate, I am about to throw my computer out the window, as I can barely use it due to all of these annoying alerts. Can someone please tell me how to either stop the alerts or fix whatever is causing this? It doesn't matter whether I say I want to allow the connection, block the connection...ten seconds later I am getting the same damn alert

How can I make sure I do not have any firewalls set up on my computer?

I can't get a piece of software working on my computer, and customer support for that softward said I need to make sure no firewall is getting in the way. I have my windows firewall turned off and I don't have Norten or any other security feature on my computer. But how can I be sure that there isn't a firewall getting in the way....?

How can I make sure I do not have any firewalls set up on my computer?vincent

Do you have a router? If so it will act as a firewall, go into the router's settings to disable, or even better, to ''forward ports'' port forwarding allows software access certain ports.

How can I make sure I do not have any firewalls set up on my computer?adware remover

Do ctrl-alt-del and select processes tab, Look at the processes that are running. If you find it, select End Process then go to Control panel from Start and Add/Remove programs and uninstall if you wish.

You can also do the following

Start=%26gt;Run=%26gt;type in ''msconfig''=%26gt;OK=%26gt;select the Startup Tab=%26gt;then uncheck the box for your firewall.
They don't magically appear on your PC. Unless you downloaded and installed it, and KNOW ABOUT IT BEING THERE, you won't have one.

    Look in your Programs file.

    Avast:

    http://www.avast.com/eng/download.html

    Both free, run both.
Yes.. Go to Avast.com and download the free home version. It is free and STAYS free. It works great and isn't a system hog. I would recommend it over any top virus program like Norton. You have to register for a activation code but you don't need to give a credit card # or anything.(its all free). Use the first link to download and the second link to get the activation code
All I can say is to try another anti virus (AVG) and *also to get a fire wall*. If that dose not do the trick then you should back up anything you can and reload the system. The fire wall I would suggest would be zone alarm. Both AVG and zone alarm both have free versions.

Which is better for security and virusus??

i have windows xp sp2 in my computer and have alot of security issues. i am thinking og changing to windows vista, would it be better for security for my compter? please give me your opinion.

Which is better for security and virusus??virus protection

    Vista + Kaspersky anti-virus 7.0 =best security

Which is better for security and virusus??agv

Vista should have better security. However, your old hardware in the computer may not support Vista if you decide to upgrade. I am using XP SP2 and it's ok. As long as you have a good anti-virus sw installed and run anti-spy like yahoo anti-spy (once a week) to clean up your tracking cookies, your computer should be ok. Also, enable XP firewall is always better to protect your computer.
Vista is still unstable and has compatibility problems especially with peripherals. Improving security is not a good reason to move to Vista. There are plenty of free virus and adware eliminating programs available. I recommend AVG anti virus and Zone Alarm (google them). Win Patrol is excellent for more advanced users. If you use Zone Alarm and AVG you will need to turn off Windows firewall, which is pretty much useless anyway.
Get yourself At least Norton's antivirus software 2007, then turn on your windows firewall if it isn't on! You can do so by going into your computers control panel!

Loaded up Vista over XP. Now want XP back. Cannot get it back. Computer is locked up. What can I do?

I have seen this problem before. I used an old windows 98 boot disk and re-format the hard drive the old fashion way with fdisk. once you have completed that set your BIOS 1st boot device to CDROM and put your XP disk in the drive...reboot and when prompted to boot from disk do so, then follow the instructions. I did this for a friend with the same issue. worked great.

Oh and please don't go to the Geek Squad, they do NOT know what they are doing. They keep me in business following them around fixing their mistakes!

Loaded up Vista over XP. Now want XP back. Cannot get it back. Computer is locked up. What can I do?anti virus protection

Okay, some of what that guy said makes no sense because it's already very clear that you have already HAD XP on the computer... so what you should do is locate the XP disc that came with the computer. When you start your computer, enter the boot menu and change your boot order to boot from the CD drive first. It should restart, pop the XP CD into your computer and follow the instructions to reinstall XP. It's not that complicated. If all else fails, go to BestBuy %26 pay the GeekSquad to do it, they know what they're doing.

Quarantine it first and have the entire disk scanned for more infected files. If the Windows fails to operate right after quarantining , have the entire disk reformatted and the Operating System reinstalled.
Since McAfee offers the choice to quarantine or delete, pick up a choice ;) that's simple, that's what antivirus is meant for.

If your parents are savy enough to block it, what will stop them from realizing that you are re-downloading it? I would just suggest that you go to the AOL website, and use the browser there. Lastly, although your parents will figure this out too, try downloading Trillian. This will take you to it.

You don't necessarily have to download aim. You can use aol instant messenger online. Just go to www.aimexpress.aim.com. It works just like AIM, if not better. I use it all the time.
just go to the web site and chat from there. only remember to errase your history after you get done or they will find out and spank you.lol
You might want to use AIM directly from the aol.com website. It's not a down-loadable program, but you can still communicate with people on your buddy list.

usually having more than one antivirus will cause ur system to slow down alot ... u only need one ... if anything disable all active protection on one of them ...

2 antiviruses installed on my computer?avast

yes it matters, you should have only one antivirus installed.
It should not pose any problems. The only thing is that it can be a drain on system performance, in terms of system memory and CPU usage. Having two levels of anti-virus is very safe. One anti-virus might miss something that the other can catch.
There is nothing wrong with having two anti- virus programmes installed as one will never know all the viruses
Depending on the Antivirus Programs, they occasionally compete with each other finding some bugs that aren't there. If you are going to load two Antivirus applications, try not to have both on the system at the same time.

Also a point that was previously made is that the more services you have loaded, the more your system will slow down. For each additional Antivirus, you tie up more RAM and more processor cycles. Similar to malware, which is the exact thing you want to prevent.

How can a liberal arts graduate become a computer systems analyst?

I'm about to graduate with a four-year liberal arts degree from a prestigious university, but I would like to pursue a career in IT. Although I have some experience with Windows, OS X, and Linux, my computer skills are quite limited compared to IT professionals. I believe I would like to eventually become a computer systems analyst or a security expert, and I would like to know how best to break into the field. At the moment I imagine I should get an A+ certification, do some temp work, turn the temp work into a full-time position, and then obtain additional certifications (CCNA, Network+, Security+, etc.) in order to work my way up. In addition, I imagine I should learn at least the basics of programming.

I'm curious how long it would take to achieve my goal and if the path I have sketched out above makes sense to those of you who know the IT field well.

    Thanks in advance!

When I use new Yahoo email my computer is so slowly, Why?antivirus download

I noticed one of my PCs seemed a little slower when I switched to the new Yahoo mail. My guess is that it is using more resources on my computer then the old one did. Then again, since it's a beta version, Yahoo may not have worked all the bugs out of yet. I'd give it a few days and if it doesn't improve, you may need to clean your PC with a program like CCleaner (It's free). If that doesn't work, you may need to upgrade your PC's memory if possible.

When I use new Yahoo email my computer is so slowly, Why?bmw

If someone in your family was using your computer, before you were, they probably didn't log off of the yahoo network. Then it might say that someone else is on your computer. Just sign back in, using your own account..
The message ''another person is logged on to this computer'' has nothing to do with your Yahoo account. It's a Windows account. Try using LOG OFF on the start menu instead--look at the users. Also, check for the .NET security container.

How can i connect my computer and tv?antivirus downloads

I*f your computer presently has a TV output, usually an S connector, you should be able to connect that to your TV and go into display property settings to set-up the TV. If you don'tb have any TV output, then you will need a video board in your computer with multiple outputs. This is common in middle of the road video boards in the $100 range. Typically, these boards will have two DVI/VGA outputs and a TV output with a connector going to a dongle with component and S outputs. Using the driver that comes with the board, you typically can spread your desktop across two monitors (one can be the TV), put the same thing on both monitors, or put different things on the two monitors.

Two prime sources for these boards are NVidia and ATI. Look at the NVidia 7600 series boards.

How can i connect my computer and tv?cafe racer

You'll need a VGA cable to connect the computer to the TV. Then if you want to have 2 things going you'll need to use PIP to split the screen into multiple views. If you're using your TV as a monitor then you're going to also need a Bluetooth keyboard so you can sit a few feet away from the TV because the Infrared ones won't reach far nor will you find a keyboard with a 12 ft. cable for example.
Go to www.techcctv.com or give them a call they can help.
you have to buy a special cable
Slingbox will do much of what you want. The product is great, but their attempt @ humor is lame.
