im just tryin to connect a computer to my internet really for a little while so i wanna make it so that other computers can get onto my security enabled network. i forgot where to go to turn off the security enabling. can you tell me? i have xp and then other computer has vista. thanks

Your trying to connect your 2nd comp wirelessly but you don't know your own passphrase ?? try looking on the router itself for a number in brackets [ ] . If you are using AT%26T or Bellsouth DSL, did you bookmark your 'Network at a Glance'' URL ? Without the passphrase or password to change the passphrase, you will NOT be able to connect any other computers. Your ISP may help you with this or they may NOT without the password(s). They might think you're just trying to 'break into' someone elses' network.

You should be able to plug right into the router with an ethernet cord and not need a passphrase or password

you need to go into the routers wireless settings and turn off the security from there, this means that any wireless computer will be able to connect without problem. what make of router is it ?
