My computer is 14 months old, and it uses Windows XP. I've been using Panda Internet security ever since I got the computer.
When the Internet was hooked up, it had problems staying connected. A computer tech person told my dad that it was because the Panda firewall wasn't compatible with the Windows firewall. So my dad turned off the Panda firewall, and left Windows firewall running.
My Panda subscription is going to expire in a month, and I'm wondering, should I get a different Internet security--one that is compatible with the Windows firewall?
I've had so many problems with the Internet (it runs slow, loses connection, and sometimes it's even unresponsive for minutes)...Can this be related to the Internet security (along with other factors)?

First off your dad made a mistake by shutting down Panda in favor of the Windows XP firewall. The Win XP firewall is rated absolutely *worst*. (See source below)
I wouldn't worry about compatibility with your Windows XP firewall...shut IT down in favor of something better.
Until you decide what you are going to do for full coverage, install the *best* firewall. I suggest Comodo's Firewall Pro (and shut down the XP firewall):
